Alexa Snyder, Ph.D., LMFT

Dr. Alexa Snyder is the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Fresh Start Life Solutions. She approaches therapy from a systemic perspective, recognizing that each person’s experiences are shaped by the many relationships, environments, and life circumstances surrounding them. Using an integrative approach, Alexa draws from a variety of therapeutic models and techniques, to create individualized treatment that reflects each client’s unique needs, strengths, experiences, and goals.

Alexa works with adolescents and adults, navigating a wide range of concerns, including Life Transitions, Women’s Health, Executive Functioning, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Disordered Eating, Body Image, Self-Esteem, Health and Wellness, Motivation, Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Relationship and Marital Difficulties, Divorce, Blended Family Dynamics, Parenting Challenges, Child Behavioral Concerns, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She also provides business and career coaching for individuals seeking greater clarity, direction, confidence, and balance in their professional lives.

Alexa is particularly passionate about working with older teens and young adults, as they navigate significant periods of transition and increasing independence. Whether preparing for college, entering the workforce, developing meaningful relationships, learning how to effectively budget finances, or adjusting to new responsibilities and expectations, she helps clients strengthen the skills, confidence, and self-awareness needed to effectively manage the challenges that often accompany these stages of life.

Alexa believes that meaningful therapeutic work does not always have to take place within the traditional office setting. She incorporates and encourages experiential approaches when appropriate, including equine-assisted therapy through groundwork and mounted activities, art-based interventions, and walk-and-talk therapy. These experiences can complement traditional therapy by providing clients with additional opportunities for insight, emotional expression, confidence building, and personal growth.

Having started horseback riding as an adult, Alexa has an interest in working with equestrians who are experiencing fear, anxiety, loss of confidence, or other emotional challenges related to riding, following a fall, injury, or other frightening experience. She works with riders to better understand and manage these responses, rebuild confidence, and develop strategies that can help them feel safer and more comfortable, both in and out of the saddle.

Alexa strives to create a warm, supportive, and comfortable environment where clients feel safe discussing a wide range of experiences and concerns without fear of judgment. Collaboration is an important part of her approach. She welcomes consultation and coordination with other professionals involved in a client’s care, to promote comprehensive and well-rounded support. Her goal is to meet clients where they are, help them recognize their strengths, and provide the support and practical tools they need to create meaningful and lasting change in their lives.
