Brenna Sadkin, M.S., LMFT, RYT
Brenna Sadkin is co-founder and co-owner of Fresh Start Life Solutions, where she provides clients with highly individualized therapeutic, behavioral, and supportive services, locally, nationally, and internationally. Her work is grounded in the belief that effective therapy should be tailored not only to the individual, but also to the relationships, environments, and systems, that influence everyday life.
Brenna began her private consulting work in 2005 as a behavioral and social skills coach. Today, she integrates that extensive experience into her work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, combining traditional psychotherapy with behavioral, experiential, and integrative approaches. She works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and is particularly skilled at developing creative, practical interventions for clients whose needs may not fit neatly within a traditional office-based model.
Brenna takes a hands-on approach that extends beyond the therapy office, and into the environments where challenges actually occur. In addition to officebased and virtual services, she provides specialized services in homes, schools, and other community and natural settings. She also offers consultation, second opinions, and treatment coordination for complex or difficult-to-treat behavioral and family concerns.
Brenna frequently collaborates with both private and public schools to provide in-class interventions, behavioral and social skills support, parent and teacher guidance, psychoeducational presentations, workshops, and groups. Her systemic approach allows her to look beyond an individual behavior or diagnosis, and consider the larger family, school, peer, and social environments, that may be contributing to a client’s challenges.
Brenna works with a broad range of emotional, behavioral, developmental, relational, and life-transition concerns. Areas of particular focus include anxiety, depression, OCD and phobias, ADHD and executive functioning, Autism Spectrum Disorder, behavioral challenges, school refusal and academic difficulties, social skills and peer relationships, academic motivation, job acquisition, learning disabilities, giftedness, academic placement, trauma and grief, disordered eating, addiction, sleep concerns, toilet training, parenting and caregiver support, family conflict, divorce and blended-family dynamics, couples and relationship concerns, sexuality, and significant life transitions.
Brenna is particularly passionate about helping clients navigate the emotional and relational impact of medical and health-related concerns, including women’s life-stage transitions, hormonal changes, aging, chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and medical anxiety. Across these areas, Brenna helps clients better understand the connection between emotional well-being, physical health, relationships, and the systems surrounding them. Another focus of Brenna’s practice is her work with the equestrian community. She provides therapy tailored to the unique emotional, interpersonal, performance, and lifestyle challenges experienced by equestrians, while also offering complementary equine-based therapeutic services for both equestrians and non-equestrians. Her equine work incorporates the “Fresh Start Model”, an integrative approach she developed with Fresh Start Life Solutions co-founder and co-owner, Dr. Alexa Snyder.
In addition to being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Brenna is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). For clients who are interested, she can incorporate elements of yoga and movement into the therapeutic process to support physical wellness, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and a stronger mind-body connection. She additionally offers individualized and small-group yoga services for non-therapy clients who would like to deepen an existing practice, or incorporate yoga into their broader health and wellness goals.
Brenna approaches her work with flexibility, creativity, and an appreciation for the complexity of each individual and family, helping her clients to develop practical strategies that can translate into lasting change.
